A 75-year-old woman in Texas had a warrant out for her arrest because her grass was over 18 inches tall.

Gerry Suttle was issued a notice to appear in front of a judge regarding grass in her yard. The law states that it needs to be under 18 inches, the elderly woman was unaware of this law.

Suttle also said that she never received the letter regarding a court date with a judge. Unfortunately, her failure to appear in court resulted in a warrant for her arrest

A group of young boys heard about the elderly woman’s arrest warrant and immediately jumped into action to help. They had never met the woman.

“We haven’t met her before but I mean, like I said, she’s 75-years-old, she needs some help out here mowin’. I mean, that’s the least we could do,” one of the young boys said.

The effort to trim down Suttle’s very large overgrown field was so much more about mowing a lawn. It was about keeping the elderly woman out of jail, and being a kind and generous community.

As soon as the children started the task of mowing the field, other neighbors took notice of their good Samaritan ways. It was 90 degrees outside and the boys were using normal mowers to mow a giant area.

Some neighbors with riding mowers later began to show up and help with the job.

The entire field was mowed and looked beautiful as ever within two hours. It should certainly be enough to appease the judge and keep Suttle out of trouble.

Suttle was left completely speechless when she came outside and noticed what her community had done for her.

“I cannot believe this. I’m very seldom without words but this is one time, you mark it down in history, that I didn’t have something to say,” she said.

Suttle was stunned that such young boys would go out of their way to help a strange woman for no reason at all. Her faith in humanity had been completely restored
