A pregnant woman regularly took photos of herself to record the changes in her baby bump. She expected her tummy to grow as weeks passed but woke up to a lean belly one day.
When a woman gets pregnant, she notices multiple body changes. Her eating habits change, and she might start craving food she never liked before. Her skin color might change, or darker patches might appear in some areas. While other body changes vary from woman to woman, one difference is common for everyone―the belly grows with the baby’s size.
An expecting mother, Carrie, experienced the same but was taken aback when she woke up to a smaller belly one day. It seemed like her baby bump had vanished, but she couldn’t understand how.
Carrie, who goes by the username “carriebear0408,” loves sharing bits from her life on TikTok. The mom of three has over 1500 followers and receives hundreds of views on every video.
When Carrie got pregnant with her third baby, she began recording her progress by clicking photos of herself daily. The expecting mother’s baby bump grew as weeks passed, and her followers witnessed how her pregnancy progressed.
While recording her progress, Carrie ultimately reached the final weeks of her pregnancy when she witnessed the unexpected. She woke up and stood before the mirror to click a photo when she realized her baby bump had suddenly vanished.
Her Baby Bump Shrank
Carrie uploaded a series of photos of her baby bump. As weeks passed, her baby bump grew until the 33rd week. She shared a photo from that week and showed concern regarding her shrinking bump.
After watching her TikTok video, netizens were shocked to learn that Carrie’s bump had suddenly vanished. Her bump should have grown since she was nearing the delivery date, but it looked like she wasn’t pregnant. She stated:
“Woke up 33 weeks pregnant, and my bump has vanished??”
The Viewers Gave Multiple Theories
Her photos showed her bump sticking out as it should, except in the last video, where Carrie wore a black t-shirt. She raised her shirt, showed her belly, and then lowered it. The viewers were shocked that her bump wasn’t sticking out like before.
Soon, she posted a video informing everyone about her baby’s progress
The worried mother posted the video compilation on TikTok, hoping others would help her find out why her bump had vanished. In no time, people started posting their theories in the comments. Some women said they had experienced the same during their pregnancy
“Baby getting ready to enter the world, Momma,” one woman on TikTok said. She meant that Carrie’s bump had decreased in size because her baby had moved.
Meanwhile, another woman said that her baby did the same. “She was in my back,” the TikTok user wrote, suggesting that Carrie’s baby must have shifted towards her back.
“Oh, mine did that, and she had dropped and turned back to back. Thankfully I was planned C-section,” another user said.
It seemed like the viewers were familiar with changes in the fetus’ position, and their comments helped Carrie understand what had happened. While most people in the comments section told the expecting mother not to worry, one user suggested Carrie’s baby might have taken a riskier position
“My bump did that when she turned sunny side up,” wrote the TikTok user.
After learning that her baby’s face might have turned towards her upper body, Carrie responded, “Oh lord, pls no! Hopefully not.”
After her video went viral, people asked Carrie for updates on her pregnancy. Soon, she posted a video informing everyone about her baby’s progress. She said her baby had “dropped into the pelvis” and was expected to deliver on March 13, 2022.
However, a video surfaced on her TikTok account on February 18, 2022, where she was seen in a hospital bed, expecting to deliver her baby. The following day, Carrie posted adorable photos of her newborn boy, Noven Matthew. “He’s here!!” she captioned the video.
We’re glad Carrie safely delivered a cute little boy and didn’t face any complications. We hope her son fills her life with unlimited joy and she raises him to become a wonderful human being.
