Mom Abandons Little Daughter — Girl Is Forced To Study Under Cardboard To Fulfill Dream Of Becoming a Doctor

A young girl didn’t allow her difficult circumstances to get in the way of her education, studying under a cardboard box on the side of the road while her dad worked every single day.

A difficult situation can do two things to a person: it can either ruin them or motivate them to do better. It can be easy to sulk when life gives you a series of challenges, but if you have something worth fighting for, it can also inspire you to work hard until you reach your dreams.

For a father and daughter duo in Peru, they worked hard every day in hopes of a better life, despite not having much. Even after all the challenges they faced, they continued to think positively, until the world decided to bless them with a new reality.

Maria Rosa and her father Jose Gonzalo were heartbroken when the young girl’s mother left them and never came back. After they were abandoned, they moved out of the province to live in the city and earn more money.

However, even life in the city wasn’t easy for them. Jose could only find a job as a car washer, which only left him with a maximum $7-dollar take home every day.

He not only had to feed himself and his daughter, but he also needed to pay for a place for them to live. So, even if his five-year-old daughter wanted to study, he just couldn’t afford to put her to school.

Every single day, Maria would go to work with her father. She would wait at the side, studying on a table that was taken from the garbage.

As it was a recycled table that they placed on the side of the road, Maria had no other form of shade. She was prone to being under intense weather conditions but had no choice but to stay where she was

Maria’s story ultimately landed on the screens of Trujillo Charitable Society’s members, who realized they had the means to help her.
So, to shade herself from the scorching sun or from the rain, Maria used an old cardboard box that she placed over her head. She’d stay underneath that box, studying, until her dad finished his work for the day.

The sight of Maria studying under a cardboard box caught the attention of a passerby, who decided to record it and post it on social media. It didn’t take long for the clip to go viral.

Maria’s story ultimately landed on the screens of Trujillo Charitable Society’s (TCS) members, who realized they had the means to help her. They decided to do something for the child and her father, with the hope of giving them a better life.

A representative of the charitable foundation revealed their plans to give Maria a scholarship to Hermanos Blanco College, saying:

“Our commitment is to support the most vulnerable, which is why a Comprehensive Scholarship was awarded to the Hermanos Blanco

TCS didn’t stop there. Knowing that helping Maria out with her studies wouldn’t be enough, they also decided to help Jose find a stable job, as a watchman at Hermanos Blanco college, where he could also keep an eye on his daughter.

No longer needing to wash cars for a living, the grateful dad couldn’t help but share how blessed he felt to be given the opportunity to work. He now had the means to support his daughter, who dreams of one day becoming a lawyer or a doctor.

Ultimately, Jose wants nothing more than for his daughter to one day fulfill her dream. He knows that the best gift he can ever give his daughter is an education, and with a stable job and a comprehensive scholarship to help him, he’s confident he’ll be able to do just that.

Likewise, Maria is overjoyed to be going to school. She no longer has to study on her own under the heat of the sun because she will receive a proper education.

Aside from her comprehensive scholarship, she also received a set of school supplies and school uniforms to prepare her for school. She and her dad now get a better shot at life, and no longer have to live in uncertainty.
