The birth of twins can be an overwhelming moment, but one Denver mom experienced a special coincidence as she welcomed her baby girls.

In early October, expectant mom Lauren Meehan’s twins decided to make a quick arrival in the middle of the night. The delivery took place in the operating room of Rose Medical Center and had two labor and delivery nurses involved.

However, what happened next was a surprise. While Meehan is not new to childbirth—her first baby was delivered at the same hospital two years ago—she was grateful to always have a nurse by her side, explaining everything and holding her hand, according to Today.

The caring nurses took turns being with her, speaking to her in a reassuring way. When she was about to deliver, the team asked Meehan if she had any names picked.

“We told the room that we loved the names Emma and Julia,” Meehan said in a statement. “The room all broke out in laughter as the two nurses that would be taking care of my babies were both named Emma and Julia!”

Despite the chaos, the medical team in the room took a pause and tried to enjoy the moment, knowing the “names were meant to be.”

The family also counts themselves very fortunate to be able to say they now have not one, but three “Rose Babies

My first one was in the middle of the pandemic and I received excellent care during my whole pregnancy and birth during a very scary time,” Meehan said. “This time around, we had another surprise when we found out we were having twin girls.”

Meehan also credits Dr. Onstad for the prenatal care and the birth of her babies.

As for the special coincidence, Meehan said: “Those two nurses will always be special to us and the entire team that took care of us that day with hold a special place in our hearts. It will be a funny story to tell our girls!”

Rose Medical Center in Denver has earned the reputation of the city’s “Baby Hospital.” Women who give birth there are proud to call their babies Rose Babies.
