Catherine Rampell Challenges Scott Jennings Live: ‘Prove Musk’s Salute Isn’t a Sieg Heil—Do It Right Now on TV!'”

Last week, Elon Musk made a gesture at a rally that looked like a Nazi salute. This caused a heated argument on CNN between Scott Jennings, who supports Musk, and Catherine Rampell, a columnist for the Washington Post.

Rampell, who is Jewish, questioned why Musk keeps getting defended despite his controversial actions and comments about Jewish people. She even challenged Jennings to repeat the salute on live TV, but he refused.

Jennings argued that Musk has a history of supporting Jewish people and called the idea that Musk’s gesture was a Nazi salute ridiculous. Rampell pushed back, asking why Jennings wouldn’t do the salute on TV if he thought it was harmless.

Musk has also supported a far-right German political party, Alternative for Germany (AfD), whose leaders have made controversial statements about the Holocaust. In a recent video message to the party, Musk said Germany focuses too much on past guilt and should move on. Additionally, in 2023, Musk agreed with a tweet accusing Jewish people of promoting hatred against white people, though he later tried to backtrack on his comment.
