A Trump supporter named Paul Bisson is unhappy with how Donald Trump has started his second term. He told The Wall Street Journal, “I don’t like chaos,” and said this isn’t what Trump voters expected.
The first few weeks of Trump’s second term have seen quick cabinet appointments, aggressive use of executive power, and a tense fight with the stock market over tariffs. But many people, including those who voted for him, are not pleased.
A report from The Wall Street Journal shows that consumer confidence has dropped. A survey from the University of Michigan found that confidence fell by 5% in early February, the lowest since July 2024.
Inflation expectations also jumped from 3.3% in January to 4.3%, the highest since November 2023. Another survey from Morning Consult also showed a drop in consumer confidence due to fears about the economy.
Paul Bisson, who is 58, writes proposals for a flight safety company and co-owns a dog daycare in San Antonio. He said he doesn’t like how unstable things feel and blames Trump’s policies for creating chaos.
He hopes to retire soon but worries that Trump’s tariff threats will make the economy worse. He says this isn’t what Trump voters wanted. “We’ve already cut back,” he said. “There’s nothing left to cut.”
