He wrote, “Zelensky better move fast, or he won’t have a country left.” He went on to claim that his team is making progress in negotiating peace with Russia and that only he and his administration are capable of achieving this goal.
Trump also criticized current U.S. President Joe Biden, saying that he has never made a real effort to bring peace to Ukraine. He blamed European leaders as well, stating that they have failed in their attempts to resolve the war. Additionally, he suggested that Zelensky might not actually want the war to end because Ukraine is receiving large amounts of financial aid from other countries, which he referred to as a “gravy train.”
In other words, Trump is implying that Zelensky and his government are benefiting from the ongoing war and may not be in a hurry to stop it. His comments have sparked strong reactions, as many people see them as controversial and potentially harmful to international relations.
