An activist for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) and a pastor at a large Atlanta church made racist comments about black supporters of President Trump.

Jamal Bryant, the pastor of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in the Atlanta suburbs, used his Sunday sermon to criticize African-Americans who support the president.

He said, “I feel bad for those ‘coons’ in the White House who are there tap-dancing for their master, wearing bow-ties, shining, and grinding, laughing as if nothing is wrong. These runaway slaves hiding in the White House are going to put up my picture, thinking I’ll be afraid.”

His words were met with loud cheers from the congregation.

In addition to spreading hate among his followers, Bryant is active in promoting DEI programs at a time when many companies are reducing them.

Earlier this month, Bryant called for a 40-day fast against Target after the company announced it would cut back on its DEI initiatives.

During his sermon, he said, “I want the stock to go down because we are standing in righteous anger against racism and sexism in this nation. We are going to break the spirit of white entitlement. We are going to break the spirit of racism and sexism.”

Bryant is also known for his close ties to the controversial black nationalist Louis Farrakhan.

In 2015, Bryant interviewed Farrakhan, the leader of the Nation of Islam, and described him as “one of the greatest leaders of our people.”

He introduced Farrakhan by saying, “We welcome to the Word Network and the entire world the honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan! We’re honored to have you, sir. I’m so grateful to have lived in the same time as one of the greatest leaders of our people.”
