A mark on Donald Trump’s hand has been noticed again, sparking concerns about his health.
People first saw the mark earlier this year when Trump met with French President Emmanuel Macron on the anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. After photos from the event were shared online, social media users pointed out what looked like a dark bruise on Trump’s right hand.
One person commented on X (formerly Twitter): “I saw a photo of Trump’s hand today, and it looks like he has a huge bruise.” Others noticed similar marks in past photos, with some suggesting he was covering them with makeup.
Trump’s press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, responded by saying the marks were simply from shaking hands with so many people. “President Trump works hard and meets more Americans daily than any other president,” she said.
Recently, the mark was seen again during a meeting with Irish leader Micheál Martin. This has led to more speculation online.
Dr. Anatalia Moore, a skin expert, explained that bruises like this are common in older people, especially if they’re not very active. “A simple bump into a doorframe can cause a noticeable bruise,” she said. She also noted that bruises take longer to heal as people age, which could explain why Trump’s mark keeps reappearing.
