Michelle Obama Once Again Effortlessly Pulls Off What Melania Trump Can’t Seem to Get Right

Michelle Obama may have left the White House years ago, but she’s still finding ways to inspire and connect with people. The former First Lady has been a role model for millions, especially women of color, all around the world. Even though her husband Barack Obama’s second term ended back in January 2017, the couple still makes headlines regularly.
Earlier this year, Michelle started a podcast with her brother, Craig Robinson, to keep in touch with her fans. Recently, the two recorded an episode of their podcast, “IMO,” at the 23rd Annual Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival. During the episode, Michelle, Craig, and actress Natasha Rothwell had a warm and open conversation about mental health, dating, relationships, and the importance of telling stories that reflect the Black experience.
Michelle later shared a beautiful photo from the event with Craig and other women, and the comments section quickly filled with love.
“Lots of beauty… lots of brains… and all love!!!” one person wrote.
Another fan commented, “Hi Michelle Obama, I miss you so much.”
Someone else added, “Look at all this beauty and wisdom.”
It was refreshing to see nothing but kind and supportive comments—something that can’t often be said for the current First Lady, Melania Trump, who regularly faces online criticism no matter what she does.
It’s been about seven months since Donald Trump returned to the White House for his second term, but Melania has spent very little time there lately. She’s been noticeably absent from several big events, including Trump’s recent trip to Scotland, and people have been talking.
While Melania does make occasional appearances with her husband—likely to push back against the rumors—her role as First Lady is often criticized. Her absence isn’t helping her image either. Recently, when she invited volunteers and performers to help with White House Christmas decorations, many people mocked her. One person replied on X, “You don’t even live in the White House.”
Some even brought up a leaked audio recording from Trump’s first term, where Melania told her former friend and aide Stephanie Winston Wolkoff:
“I’m working my a– off at the Christmas stuff. Who gives a f–k about the Christmas stuff and decorations? But I need to do it, right?”
Melania isn’t very active on social media, but whenever she does post, the comments section quickly fills with criticism. A lot of this backlash stems from Donald Trump’s controversial policies, his harsh immigration crackdowns, and his alleged connections to Jeffrey Epstein. On top of that, her relationship with Trump is constantly under public scrutiny, especially after several moments where she appeared to pull her hand away from him in public.
This has fueled strange theories—like the idea that Trump pays her to appear with him, or that she sometimes uses a body double.
Many people online say they miss the Obama era, when Michelle was known for her grace, resilience, and clear support for her husband. Even though Michelle is no longer First Lady, she remains more admired and beloved than the current one, who continues to be surrounded by controversy.
