Actor Harrison Ford, best known for his role as Indiana Jones, didn’t hold back when speaking about former President Donald Trump in a recent interview with The Guardian. Ford said he believes Trump is one of the most dangerous figures in modern history, mainly because of his refusal to take climate change seriously. The 83-year-old actor criticized Trump’s leadership style, saying he acts on “whims” instead of real policies, and accused him of putting personal profit above the planet’s well-being.

Ford said Trump’s lack of action on climate issues “scares the life out of me,” describing the former president as driven by arrogance and greed. “He doesn’t have any policies, he has whims,” Ford said. “It’s terrifying—the ignorance, the pride, the lies. He knows better, but he’s using his power to help himself while the world falls apart.” He went as far as saying, “I don’t know of a greater criminal in history,” expressing frustration over the damage he believes Trump has caused to both the environment and society.

Ford also told the newspaper that Trump is losing support because “everything he says is a lie.” He mocked Trump’s “drill, baby, drill” slogan, which encourages more oil production, calling it outdated and harmful. The actor said he believes humans still have time to slow down climate change, but only if people unite behind science, innovation, and strong leadership. “We can adapt, we can invent, and we can fix most problems when we focus on them,” Ford explained. “But we need political will and a belief that we can actually change.”

Turning to renewable energy, Ford took a jab at Trump’s well-known dislike of wind turbines, saying Trump only hates them because “he hasn’t seen a gold one.” Trump has frequently insulted wind turbines, calling them “ugly” and even telling the United Kingdom during a visit to “get rid of the windmills and bring back the oil.” During his presidency, his administration canceled what would have been one of the largest wind energy projects in the United States, undoing efforts from the previous administration to expand renewable power.

Ford has spoken out against Trump for years and has been active in supporting Democratic candidates. Recently, he publicly endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris in her 2024 presidential campaign, appearing in a video message praising her leadership. “Kamala Harris will protect your right to disagree with her about policies or ideas,” Ford said in the campaign video.

This wasn’t the first time Ford criticized Trump’s presidency. In a previous interview with Variety, Ford lamented how economic inequality has grown, saying, “The rich get richer and the poor get poorer, and that isn’t right.” He added that the country has become divided and lost its sense of shared purpose. “We’re having a hard time finding common ground,” Ford said. “But if you look at the economy, you’ll see where it always was—where the money is. And that’s not how it should be.”

Throughout his comments, Ford made it clear that he sees climate change, inequality, and political division as serious threats—and he blames Trump’s leadership for making those problems worse. Despite the grim outlook, Ford said he still believes people can come together, adapt, and fix what’s broken if they choose cooperation and action over greed and denial.
