It’s the talk of the school!’ Unwitting father sends his three-year-old daughter to school in potty-training UNDERWEAR, after the little girl convinced him they were bike shorts

A Maryland mother has told of her shock after she received a photo of her three-year-old daughter in music class wearing nothing but a sweater and a pair of potty training underwear.

Aliza Friedlander told Today that on the particular morning that the photo was taken, she headed to work early and her husband Brad got the kids ready for school — and thought nothing of sending their three-year-old daughter Brooklyn along in a pair of white undies.

Luckily, both the mother-of-two and her undies-wearing kid found the whole thing quite funny, and Aliza even suspects that Brooklyn may have been playing a joke on her dad the whole time.

Aliza shared a photo of Brooklyn at her preschool music class on Instagram. One shot, taken from behind, shows the little girl in an animal-print sweater and teeny-tiny white ‘shorts’ with a bit of extra padding over the behind.

Another shot, taken from the front, shows Brooklyn grinning in her less-than-full-dressed state.

Aliza said she was surprised when her mother, Anita King, texted her the photos. Aliza’s husband, Brad, had dressed the kids and taken them to school that morning, and Anita stayed behind with Brooklyn during her class.

After Brad had gone, Anita noticed something off about Brooklyn’s outfit.

‘Her initial thought was she was wearing white bike shorts scrunched up in the front with a shirt covering them,’ Aliza said. ‘I think when she went into the classroom and saw Brooklyn from behind, she realized that they, in fact, weren’t shorts.’

She stayed very calm and didn’t make a big deal about it and just turned to one of my close friends, Melissa, and asked, “I think Brooklyn is wearing underwear,” to which Melissa said, “Yes.”‘

Anita grabbed a pair of shorts from Brooklyn’s big sister Lila’s classroom, but not before taking photos and sending it to Aliza.

Aliza quickly sent a message to her husband.

‘You sent her to school in underwear,’ she said.

‘She said those were shorts,’ Brad replied

OK… well don’t leave them in her drawer for her to pick,’ Brad replied, indicating that they were letting Brooklyn dress herself.

‘They were in her underwear drawer,’ Aliza answered.

Luckily, Aliza wasn’t too upset by the whole thing, and laughed over the fact that her daughter’s underwear was the ‘talk of the school.’

Aliza told Today that Brooklyn does have a few pairs of bike shorts, and had told Brad that that’s what they were.

‘She was actually wearing a pair of underwear under the underwear, so she was wearing them as shorts even though they weren’t,’ she said.

‘He has never let an epic fail happen like this before … he spends a ton of time with the girls and gets them dressed all the time, which is what makes this even funnier.’

She also said she suspects her funny daughter knew they were underwear and was pranking her dad.

‘When I asked her about it she got this huge smile on her face and started cracking up, so I’m not entirely confident our 3 year old wasn’t playing a joke on her father,’ she said.
