American living in UK has blunt 3-word verdict after trying beans on toast

A man who recently moved from the United States to the UK tried beans on toast for the very first time and shared his honest thoughts online.

While many Brits love this simple and classic meal, it’s not something most Americans are familiar with or even find appealing. But this man, known on TikTok as K Jordy, decided to give it a try and see what the fuss was all about.

K Jordy, who now lives in London, has gained a large following on social media by posting funny takes on British culture. In a video he posted on March 27, he showed himself preparing and tasting the well-known British dish.

He began by toasting two slices of bread and heating up a can of Heinz baked beans in the microwave. Then, he poured the beans over the toast on a plate. As he got ready to try it, he admitted he was curious about why so many people in the UK love it.

After taking a few bites with a fork, he gave his verdict: “It’s not bad.” He explained that while it wasn’t amazing, it also wasn’t terrible.

He didn’t hate it, but something about the mix of bread and beans didn’t quite sit right with him. He ended up giving the meal a score of 6.5 out of 10.

The video quickly gained attention online, getting thousands of views, likes, and over 900 comments. However, many British viewers were quick to point out that he didn’t make the dish the traditional way.

One person mentioned that he forgot to butter the toast and didn’t add any cheese. Another said the same, recommending melted cheese on top for the full experience.

Others commented that his version was “a violation,” stressing that the toast should be well-buttered and eaten properly with a knife and fork.

Although his attempt wasn’t perfect in the eyes of some Brits, his willingness to try a local favourite still got people talking—and maybe even craving beans on toast.
