Donald Trump was accused of breaking the law on Sunday, sparking criticism from both Republicans and Democrats.

On CNN, the host started a Sunday news segment by saying that lawmakers from both political parties are unhappy with what Trump did. She specifically mentioned three well-known Republican senators—Lisa Murkowski, Susan Collins, and Chuck Grassley—who have all spoken out against Trump’s actions. Their criticism shows that even members of his own party disagree with what he has done.

The host explained that after Trump’s first time in office, a new law was created to make sure certain decisions, like the one he made, are handled more carefully. This law says that before any big changes can happen, there needs to be a clear explanation, and some time must pass to allow for proper review. By not following this process, Trump may have broken the rules.

To get more insight, the host brought in Lucy Lang, who is New York State’s 11th Inspector General. Lucy Lang explained that what Trump did is not just against the law, but it also goes against the basic values that democracy is built on. She said that ignoring rules and skipping proper processes sets a bad example and undermines how things should work in a fair and democratic society.
