When Sienna, a woman from Australia, decided to move across the world to meet and eventually marry the love of her life, people online criticized her. Now, she’s happy with her plus-sized hubby but still battling online trolls.

Celebrity crushes are nothing new. Fans have fawned over countless famous faces, from Ryan Reynolds delivering witty quips to Scarlett Johansson flexing her physique in skin-tight spandex. That said, it’s relatively unheard of for fans to get in contact with their Hollywood crushes, much less end up marrying them.

Although it’s unheard of, it’s not impossible. When Sienna Keywood, a woman originally based in Australia, saw the actor George Keywood on the BBC sitcom “People Just Do Nothing” in 2018, she was lovestruck. Like any adoring fan, she went to Instagram to find out more about her new celebrity crush.

She found his account quite quickly, scrolled for a bit, and decided to take the leap. She sent him a DM simply saying, “Craig (Keywood’s role) is my favourite character,” and waited for a response. Soon after, George responded with a calm, “Thanks babe,” and proceeded to like a few of Sienna’s pictures.

The thing that truly drew in the online trolls was the fact that George is overweight.

The two started talking constantly, slowly building up a rapport over the phone. The pair communicated for six months via messages before Sienna finally decided to make something more of the potential relationship. She bought a plane ticket and headed to the UK to meet the man who had utterly infatuated her. She noted:

“I had a feeling we would get along really well and have some sort of special impact on each other’s lives.”

Sienna booked herself into an Airbnb and invited George over for a few drinks. The two got along excellently, and Sienna shared that they stayed up the whole night, drinking, swapping stories, and getting to know each other. The two were on cloud nine, but little did they know what challenges lay ahead.

However, she confessed it was impossible to catch everything. Some people even accused Sienna of being a paid actress and implied that the couple’s son, Oliver Keywood, isn’t their real kid.

Sienna shared that the hatred has thus far only happened online but confessed that people would often stare at her and her husband when they’re out in public. Although Sierra initially felt self-conscious when people look at them, she’s proud of her relationship.

Although Sierra and George have learned to turn a blind eye to the hateful remarks left on their social media pages, the negative feedback is still rolling in. They are happy to have each other, and Sierra commented that their relationship is more important than the opinions of others. She stated:

“I know most girls aren’t attracted to big guys like George, even some [of] my friends made it very clear they thought I could do better, as George is not what society deems ‘typically attractive’ – but I don’t care what people think.”

Nonetheless, Sienna’s TikTok account is often flooded with mean-spirited messages and comments poking fun at her and her husband. In response to a video, one user wrote, “The lengths people go to for money.” Another person commented, “Always make time for a trip out to McDonald’s.”

Many people also questioned whether Sienna is using the relationship to gain online fame, with people writing, “You’re in it for the attention you receive,” and “Anything for fame.” One person commented, “When the hype stops the relationship will be tested.”

Despite the negative comments, the two are going strong. Sienna also encouraged other “plus-sized” people to keep looking for love and ensured them that there is someone out there for them. She added about her marriage, “We love each other, and no-ones opinion can change that.”
