Meet Woman Who Finally Give Birth After 19 Miscarriages, gives birth to baby weighing 14 pounds (Video)
Cary and Tim Patonai experienced more than a dozen setbacks on their journey to parenthood.
The Arizona couple eventually received their latest bundle of joy when Cary gave birth to a healthy, 14-pound baby boy, Finnley on Oct. 4.
Cary, 36, is thrilled after enduring a heartbreaking 19 miscarriages.
“Two of the miscarriages were sets of twins,” she said according to Newsner. “It was traumatic for the whole family, especially our oldest child (Devlen). Each loss would break his little heart.”
After their eldest son Devlen was born, the couple welcomed second son Everett.
The couple tried to grow the family more but Cary suffered further failed pregnancies. Finnley’s arrival was light at the end of a long tunnel, and a wonderful gift from nature.
Our family is finally complete, he is absolutely perfect,” she said according to the publication.
Hospital doctors have also celebrated Finnley’s delivery. The infant has become a minor celebrity at hospital, and many workers have asked to take a selfie with the miracle baby.
Finnley is roughly double the size of an average newborn and taller than usual, measuring 23.75 inches according to the publication.
The OB/GYN who performed the caesarian section said he had never seen a bigger newborn in 27 years.
“They were like, ‘Oh my God, I cannot believe he is so big,’” Cary said. “They could not wait to get him on the scales.”
“The doctor and one of the sweetest nurses there they were all taking selfies with us,” she added. “They asked permission of course but they were just so pumped.”
Finnley is so heavy he outweighs his older siblings Everett (11 pounds, 11 ounces) and Devlen (eight pounds, two ounces).
“I am used to carrying big babies but this was on another level,” she said. “It got to the point where I could hardly move. It would take me 30 minutes to recover from taking a shower.”
