Mom Asks Son With No Legs if He’s Proud of Himself for Walking. His 4-Word Response Wrecks Her!

Life looks a bit different for 4-year-old Camden Whiddon. Most kids his age would be reckless balls of energy, running everywhere they can, and adventuring on a daily basis.

But for Camden, running isn’t much of an option. Though that doesn’t translate to being any less of a reckless ball of energy.

He was born without both of his legs, and only the upper halves of his arms. But Camden’s mom, Katie Whiddon, will tell you that this strong little boy doesn’t let anything hold him back.

Just a few days ago, Camden learned to walk for the very first time!
All it took was “some coaching and a pep-talk from his daddy,” Katie writes on Facebook, and this little guy was off to the races.

“I cried like a baby!” she says of the moment she’s been anxiously anticipating for the last four years. “I am SO proud of Camden and I am SO BLESSED to be his Momma! All I could do was cry and tell Camden how proud I was of him while watching him take his very first unassisted steps.”

Katie says while the moment was emotional for her as a mother, to Camden, it seemed like any old walk in the park (see what I did there).

“A little while later, I asked Camden if he was proud of himself, and he said, ‘No, I’m just walking.’”

Holy TEARS.

Needless to say, this mommy couldn’t be prouder of her baby boy’s precious humility paired with a determination to overcome.

All the praise for this little fighter who’s a constant reminder that if you put your mind to it, you can literally accomplish anything
