A mum has been forced to defend herself after she was slammed on social media for allowing her nine-year-old daughter to get a nose piercing.

Meagan Black, from the US, often shares family videos on TikTok – with her daughter Bella frequently being featured on her feed.

But one of her latest videos sparked backlash – leaving her to defend her parenting.

In the video, young Bella can be seen joking around on a ring doorbell camera as she sports a nose ring and thick mascara.

The innocuous clip, which was viewed more than 23.2 million times, was met with mixed responses.

“Why she got a nose piecing?” one of many people asked

Others were convinced the piercing was “fake” while some were just confused over her daughter’s age.

“She looks seven and 15 at the same time because of the nose piercing,” one person said.

“I don’t know if that’s a kid, it sounds like it and looks like it but have a NOSE PIERCING??” another questioned.

While a third wrote: “She is way too young to have a nose piercing!”

The video had seemingly divided the internet, with many weighing in

“Hell no too young too young! You’re a bad parent,” one said.

Another said: “She’s nine. No jeweller would do that. Shame on you. She’s a child. She’s not mature or developed.”

However, many jumped to the mum’s defence.

“Omg stop hating, they are amazing,” one wrote.

Another suggested: “Her nose ring is so cute! It suits her so well!!.”

While one added: “She is so pretty I don’t know what the haters are talking about.”

The mum responded to critics, saying: “She went to a professional and I signed for her.”

She clapped back at the “haters” explaining her daughter made the decision to get a nose ring because she “does not like earrings” as they’re “ugly”.

“About the nose ring thing, she’s nine years old ok, if she wants a f****ing nose ring, what’s the big deal with that?” she told her 44,000 followers.

“Like it’s not her tongue or her eyebrow, and I didn’t tattoo her face, she just wanted a simple nose ring,” she said.

“Like what is the big deal?”

Many were confused as to how her school reacted, with Meagan explaining: “They haven’t said a thing. She goes to public school.

“They won’t let kids have unnatural hair colour but nose rings are fine.”

The mum went on to reveal that she had pierced all of her three daughters’ ears at just “three months old” before telling the “Karens”: “Come for me”.

Some even thought the mum – who also wears a nose rings – had forced her child to have the piercing so they would look alike.

Meagan was quick to dismissed the claims.

“Did you want the piecing or did I force you?” she asked Bella.

With her nine-year-old daughter answering: “I wanted it.”

Meagan also defended the decision to allow her daughter to wear make up, saying: “Yes she is allowed to wear

“Because she is naturally light blonde and her eyebrows, eyelashes are really light and she just wants a little colour on them.”
