A decade ago, when I was in my thirties, I got married to my husband. Even before our marriage, my husband was working tirelessly, and while I anticipated challenges in our life together, I never imagined him being absent for such extended periods. During that time, I had no clue about what was happening and spent a lot of moments doubting my husband.
At first, I tried to create a peaceful atmosphere for my husband whenever he was home, but gradually my frustration grew. Every time I saw him, I became harsh and angry. Though my husband tried to calm me down, if he sensed that I was still dissatisfied, he would start avoiding me. I longed for his attention, and felt that his work commitments were keeping him away from me.
This made me feel overwhelmed, and I lost the ability to view my husband impartially. During our arguments, my husband would consistently promise to settle down soon and take me to the island I loved, but he never followed through. Was work more important than our relationship?
