New poll is biggest indicator yet that most voters see Trump as a sinister threat to the country

Donald Trump is being compared to someone who just had a terrible day, thinking it couldn’t get any worse—only to find out something even more disastrous is about to happen. He was already dealing with bad news from several polls showing that many Americans are tired of him and no longer support him. Then, to make things worse, a new poll came out that was even more damaging.
Trump didn’t take it well. He posted on social media saying that the polls are fake, and the news organizations reporting them are lying. He claimed the numbers were being made up just to make him look bad and even said the pollsters are “sick” and “the enemy of the people.” He went as far as saying these people should be investigated for election fraud — even though Trump himself has been found guilty of fraud in the past.
The newest poll, done by Axios, showed that a lot of Americans are deeply worried about Trump. In fact, more than half — 52% — agreed with a strong statement that called him a “dangerous dictator” and said he should be stopped before he damages American democracy any further. People are especially concerned about his actions like firing government workers, trying to control the government too much, forcing tariffs, and deporting immigrants without giving them a fair legal process.
The poll also showed big differences in how people of different backgrounds see Trump. A majority of Black, Latino, and Asian American voters believe Trump is dangerous. Among white Americans, only 45% felt the same way — showing how opinions about Trump often divide along racial lines.
But the poll wasn’t all bad news for him. A large number of Republicans — 81% — still think Trump is a strong leader. They believe he should be given even more power to “make America great again,” the same slogan he’s been using for years. About half of white Americans also agreed with this idea. So even though many people across the country are worried about how much power Trump wants, his core supporters still believe in him and want him to keep going.
In simple terms, more and more Americans are scared of what Trump might do if he has too much control, but he still has a loyal group of supporters who trust him and want him to lead. The country is clearly divided, and that divide is only getting deeper as Trump continues to push his agenda and dismiss any criticism.
