At a motorbike race in the Kurdistan area of Iraq, a male mob turned on a 17-year-old girl, accusing her of drawing attention away from the racers.
A racegoer in Sulaymaniyah recorded and posted a video of the youngster trying to leave the area before forcing her to flee as a mob of guys chased her while shouting “b****.”
The girl, who is an Iranian national, was wearing a black vest top with a cardigan and a skirt.
She can be seen going away from the large group of men and boys who are shouting at her and taking videos of her on their phones while clutching a tissue to her face.
In other footage uploaded to TikTok, she was surrounded by motorbikes on the track as onlookers applauded them.
She is surrounded by men as one man kicks her as she lands on a parked car.
The location is rumoured to be a well-known venue for racing competitions that frequently feature female competitors, and the girl, named as L Tehrani, is thought to be a regular at the track.
According to a report by Kurdistan’s Draw Media, men urged that women be banned from this particular gathering on December 30.
The girl was with a male acquaintance, A Khanaq, who made an effort to step in and lead her to safety.
But according to a story in The National News, the crowd instead battered and stabbed him.
Police in Sulaymaniyah have detained sixteen males in connection with the event, and they also found numerous knives and swords in the suspects’ possession.
