Deep in the forest, a family of travelers accidentally stumbled upon an abandoned bus. It was clear that the vehicle had been standing there for many years—the wheels had decayed, and the outside of the hull had already begun to be covered with vegetation. With interest, they slowly began to walk around the old vehicle and noticed that the entrance in the door area had clearly been used.
Stephen and his father loved organizing forest forays. The areas around their small town were sparsely populated—many hills and forests made the area not very interesting for living.
However, nature lovers and those enjoying a free lifestyle could have a great time there. You could travel around the area, as there were plenty of places for trips and hikes. Usually, they went for the whole weekend, with an overnight stay. They stayed in small family hotels and shelters.
This time, out of habit, they went to another shelter. It was very tiny, and there were no empty seats. Father and son were about to move on but decided to take a walk through the surrounding forest. The area was beautiful, and they still had some time.
Gradually, the forest thickened, and the shelter disappeared far behind. When they decided it was time to return, the son noticed a metal roof visible behind a hillock. It was covered with leaves, but it was clear that it belonged to an old bus.
They walked around it—the metal had already begun to lose the battle against time, but the door clearly showed signs of use. Out of curiosity, they looked inside. It turned out that the rusty sides of the old bus hid a cozy house, something that could make anyone in the city envious. They went inside. The entire space had been converted into a small, cozy hut. Apparently, some hermit, tired of civilization, had decided to settle in the forest and used the old bus.
The furniture was quite ascetic but functional: two beds and a hanging table. The bedroom area was carefully separated from the “hall with kitchen” by a curtain. There was even a shower and a kitchen; a tank was installed outside for water. There was no electricity, but what more could one expect from a summer refuge?
When they returned to the village, the owner of the shelter said that the old hermit had turned the bus into a real forest fairy tale—a perfect gift for those tired of the lights of civilization.
