The gardener was fired for saving the girl. A couple of days later there was a knock on the door!

Gardener Peter worked in a country house for seven years. He always tried to do his work with soul and rarely interfered in the affairs of his owners. But one day, his determination proved too strong for them.

One day, when the owners were not at home, Peter noticed a little girl playing near the pond. At some point, she slipped and began to fall into the water. Peter did not hesitate: he rushed to her and managed to pull her out, almost ending up in the water himself. The girl was scared but safe.

Soon, the parents returned to the house, and the incident became a topic of discussion. But instead of gratitude, Peter was faced with anger. Mrs. Karina, the girl’s mother, stated that the gardener had no right to intervene and had left her daughter unattended, thereby putting her life at risk. She claimed the incident only happened because Peter did not monitor the children.

When Peter tried to explain that he was only saving the child, his words did not find a response. Soon, he received orders to leave the house.

A few days later, Peter was working in another place but could not forget that incident. Then, one quiet morning, there was a knock on the door. It was the girl. She stood on the threshold with a sad expression on her face, holding an envelope in her hands.

The girl handed it to the gardener. The envelope contained a letter from her mother. The letter said that although Karina still felt resentment about what had happened, her daughter insisted that Peter return. She realized she had made a mistake and invited him to return to work.

Peter looked at the girl and felt the heaviness in his heart ease a little. At that moment, he realized that sometimes, even in the most difficult situations, you can find something important—including understanding that does not come immediately.
