The evening city was already shrouded in shadows when a police car noticed a black vehicle moving along a deserted road. An elderly Black man was driving. His face was covered with wrinkles, and although age had clearly left its mark, there was still a spark of life in his eyes.
He was in no hurry, enjoying the silence, when suddenly, the siren of a patrol car shattered the peace.
The policeman, who got out of his car, wasted no time and headed straight toward the old car. His manner of communication was rude—almost cruel. He didn’t inquire about the reason for the stop, didn’t ask if everything was okay. Instead, he immediately began blaming the driver for a violation, despite the fact that there were no obvious infractions or any reason for such harshness.
Not wanting to get involved in an argument, the old man tried to explain himself, but his words were cut off.
The policeman abruptly opened the door, grabbed him by the arm, and, without giving him the opportunity to protest, pulled him out of the car.
The old man tried to resist, surprised by this treatment, but his strength was no longer the same. The policeman easily overpowered him and shoved him into the patrol car without much effort.
The drive to the station was short, but for the old man, it felt agonizingly long—full of confusion and uncertainty. He didn’t understand why he had been arrested or what was happening, but he was too weak to resist.
When they arrived at the station, the policeman escorted him inside, indifferent to his age or condition. However, as soon as they entered the precinct office, the commander froze.
His eyes widened as he recognized the old man.
It was his father.
The man he loved, the man to whom he had dedicated his whole life.
He couldn’t believe his eyes.
Everything that had just transpired seemed impossible. His own father—arrested and brought into the police station without reason.
The commander, shocked by the revelation, took a long moment to regain his composure. Without hesitation, he immediately suspended the officer, realizing that such an unjustifiable act could not go unpunished.
By doing this, he not only sought justice but also tried to restore a shred of dignity to this moment—one that had turned into a nightmare for his family.
Taking his father under his protection, he apologized deeply, trying to bring some comfort to the man who had endured such an ordeal.
It was a day that none of them would forget. A day of injustice—but also a day of reckoning.
