Trump Explodes in Fury as Fired Inspector General Defies His Order, You Won’t Believe What He Did Next

Last week, President Donald Trump fired an inspector general, and it was reported that security had to escort her out of her office because she refused to accept that her termination was lawful.

According to Reuters, Phyllis Fong, who had been an inspector general at the U.S. Department of Agriculture for over 20 years, showed up to work on Monday. She insisted on staying in her position despite Trump’s announcement the previous week that she and several other inspectors general would be removed from their jobs.

The law states that the executive branch must notify Congress 30 days in advance if it plans to fire inspectors general. Many legal experts believe Trump broke this law when he decided to remove these independent watchdogs from the federal government.

Over the weekend, Fong emailed her colleagues, stating her plan to remain in her role. She referred to the Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency’s opinion, which said that the termination notices did not meet legal requirements and were therefore not valid at that time.

The sudden removal of the inspectors general has caused concern, even among Trump’s allies, such as Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA), who is asking for explanations and urging the president to follow the law.
