UPDATE: MSU Mass Shooter a Black Male – 3 Killed and 5 Injured – Suspect Shot Himself in Head as Police Were Approaching
Update: Police at a 1:30 p.m. EST press conference identified the shooter as a 43-year-old male with no known ties to MSU.
Suspected gunman, who is dead, was 43 years old and not affiliated with MSU as a student or employee, interim deputy police chief Chris Rozman says.
No update on the 3 victims who died. 5 wounded remain in critical condition, Rozman says.
The mass shooting took place at Michigan State University at Berkey Hall and the student union starting around 8:18 p.m. The suspect was found several hours later off campus and reportedly shot himself in the head.
