A woman has explained why she and her boyfriend of two years still haven’t locked lips.
In a video that has since racked up more than 2 million views, TikToker Kaytlin O’Neall – who recently graduated high school – shared some of the most common responses from people when they find out she and her boyfriend haven’t so much as pecked each other.
They tell O’Neall she must have a lot of “self-control” and also comfort her by telling her that not kissing isn’t “the end of the world.”
In some videos on O’Neall’s account, the couple take to the comments to answer questions about their sexuality and whether or not their relationship is purely platonic.
“We were best friends and then we fell in love,” O’Neall’s boyfriend Drew says in a video. “So everything that we do is to protect and look forward to more in the future. I want to marry this girl with every fiber in my being, believe me.”
Their decision not to make out stems from a desire both have to wait until marriage before getting intimate, O’Neall shared.
Roughly a year before she and Drew started going out, she was still making her mind up about whether she felt okay about smooching someone before marriage.
“I ultimately landed on ‘I don’t want to kiss’ because I wanted to save that for my future husband,” she said, adding that she’s always regarded kissing as something very intimate.
In another video, O’Neall told her followers that the choice they’d made to not kiss was a mutual “conviction”. However, she insisted she does not view those who do kiss before marriage as “sinners”.
Everyone has their own conviction,” she said in the video, adding that she and her boyfriend are very tactile with each other.
Needless to say, people were quick to share their opinions on the couple and the unusual boundaries they have in place – years into their relationship.
