One woman, Sandy Ledbetter-Clarkson, gave God credit after she saved a mother and her two children from a horrific car wreck.

Life is wholly unpredictable. No one can be entirely sure what will happen from one moment to the next. All anyone can do is ask God for His continued guidance, love and protection. For one woman and her two young children, God’s love and protection came in the form of a US Marshall.

Sandy, a US Marshall, was on the interstate in Hanover County, Virginia, traveling to the airport. She was going to hop on a flight to Ohio, where she was looking to extradite a fugitive, according to WTVR.

However, Sandy’s assignment quickly changed. Instead, it became one of the utmost importance.

The vehicle in front of Sandy, for some unexplained reason, exited the roadway at full speed. Never hitting the brakes, the car slammed into a tree. There were three people in the vehicle – a mother and her two young children.

Sandy, who witnessed the crash, stopped and approached the vehicle.

“As I approached the car, I could hear a lady screaming, ‘Help me, help me!'” Sandy said.

Sandy, after she was finally able to open one of the vehicle’s doors, she noticed she saw the two children in the back and the mother “screaming, ‘Help, come get my babies out of the car.'”

Sandy sprang into action. She freed the two children from the vehicle and got them to a safe area, away from the crash scene, according to Yahoo.

One of The Children Asked Sandy, “Are You Going To Save My Mommy?”
After heroically rescuing the children, Sandy remembers the oldest child asked Sandy a very direct question: “Are you going to save my mommy? Are you going to get her out of the car?”

The US Marshall did not hesitate, telling the child, “Yes, I am. I’ll get your mom out, baby.”

Sandy went back to the vehicle and freed the woman from the car, which was now engulfed in flames.

All three were safe and will make a full recovery. Sandy placed her safety and life at risk to save the mother and her daughters.

Despite her heroic efforts, Sandy doesn’t accept the title of “hero.” Instead, she said it was all God’s doing.

There’s no heroism,” Sandy said. “I did what anybody else would have done. It’s just, God put me in the right place at the right time.”

While Sandy may not like being called a “hero,” few people are more deserving of such a title.
