Woman sees crying man forced to throw package in airport trash. What she digs out is heartbreaking (Video)

Giving and receiving gifts from loved ones can create some of our happiest moments. Seeing someone special unwrap that gift with anticipation is a treasured feeling.

That feeling was denied to an elderly couple named Bill and Linda Modry at the St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport when they were forced to throw their gift in the trash as the TSA agent blocked them for carrying packages on the flight. Then the old man was seen crying.

Amarri Hernandez and her boyfriend were at the same airport at that time.

When they witnessed this, it touched Amarri’s heart. She retrieved the package and shared a photo of it on Facebook to find out more about the story of the discarded gift.

They had opened the gift and saw it was a snow globe, which had the photos of the elderly couple and a little girl. On the bottom, there was an engraved message, which read, “We love you Katie, Nana and Papa 1/25/16.”

Amarri wanted to return the gift to its rightful owners

So she posted a couple of photos of the snow globe on Facebook with a hope that someone would recognize the photo.

Her post went viral and was shared more than 40,000 times in just a week

Luckily, one of the employees of Things Remembered, the company that made the custom snow globe, read the post.

She decided to help Amarri and searched through records until she found the name of the person who ordered the custom-made snow globe

It was Linda Modry, and Amarri was able to contact her. She then realized just how special that parcel she retrieved from the trash was.

Katie had been adopted on Jan. 25, and her grandparents had bought the globe to send to her on the same date to remember that special day and show Katie she was always in their hearts

The entire family was touched by the kindness of a stranger and the struggle she went through to find the owners of the snow globe

She’s just amazing,” Linda said of Amarri. “People are basically really good, and she’s just exceptional.”
