“X Blocks Reporter and Hides Article About Elon Musk Sock Puppet Rumor”

A writer for The Spectator World, Jacqueline Sweet, had her account restricted after publishing an article debunking claims that Elon Musk was using a fake account under the name Adrian Dittman.

The name Adrian Dittman became popular in X Spaces (live audio chats on X) because it sounded similar to Musk’s voice. This led some users to speculate that Dittman was actually Musk using a secret account to defend himself.

Sweet’s investigation confirmed that Dittman is not Musk. Instead, he is “a German Musk fan living in Fiji.” The Spectator verified Dittman’s identity by analyzing his posts, social media activity, AI-generated art, and comments he made on X Spaces. Sweet even shared a screenshot of Dittman’s face from a Fijian government video on YouTube.

After Sweet’s article was published, Musk jokingly responded on X, saying, “I am Adrian Dittman. It’s time the world knew.” However, the article has since been flagged as unsafe on X, and Sweet’s account was limited for 30 days for “doxxing,” according to screenshots shared by The Spectator’s Managing Editor Matt McDonald.

When users try to access the article on X, they see a warning claiming it may contain “violent or misleading content.” Sweet’s suspension sparked mixed reactions, with some users supporting her punishment and others criticizing X for censoring the article.

This incident follows Musk’s earlier criticism of Twitter for suppressing the New York Post’s story about Hunter Biden’s laptop during the 2020 election.
