Tracy Hermann and James Sargent, two sick parents chose to not change their child’s diaper but sadly it did not end there.

These two cruel individuals also made a decision not to feed him as well. When the young five-month toddler was finally found, he was only 2 pounds more than he was when his mother gave birth to him.

Tragically, baby Benjamin passed away with his eyes open, his fists clenched and stuck inside the car seat after not being fed or given water for eight days.

State Attorney Kevin Lyons reported that sick parents placed baby Benjamin inside of his crib, attached to his car seat, while they neglected him and went about their days.

Cops interviewed the father informed them that he did his son a few of times, but later admitted he didn’t move the child at all during those 8 days.

The mother allegedly told the police she looked at the baby in the crib and presumed he was sleeping, so she said she stuck a bottle between the baby and the side of the car seat so that when he woke up he could grab it to feed himself.

Lyons stated that James Sargent, 23, showed a complete and total lack of remorse for the death of his son.

A Peoria County Judge sentenced Sargent to the maximum of 100 years in prison. Tracy Hermann, 21, was sentenced to 50 years after she pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in the death of her son Benjamin. She will have to serve her entire sentence.
