JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (TCD) — A 41-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman were arrested after a man’s body was found on the side of the highway last week.

On July 14, Pennsylvania State Police began a death investigation after 44-year-old Daryl Vincent Lee’s body was found along State Route 403 in Indiana County. He died from a gunshot wound and is believed to be the victim of a homicide.

According to WTAJ-TV, investigators connected Lee’s death to Justin Green, who reportedly worked with Lee as a landscaper the day before he was found dead. Green also reportedly went by the name Justin Lathan. WTAJ, citing the criminal complaint, says Green allegedly told officials he took Lee home after work.

That day, however, Green allegedly told his girlfriend, Brooke Pullin, that he “did something bad,” The Tribune-Democrat reports.

The two men allegedly drove together to get money from a client. Then, during the drive, Green allegedly shot and killed Lee with a shotgun he had bought at a yard sale.

According to The Tribune-Democrat, the affidavit says Lee “died instantly in the passenger seat of his pickup truck.”

Green reportedly put a shirt over Lee’s body, and he and Pullin went to Maryland, where he threw the shotgun in the river. After, they reportedly drove to Indiana County and left Lee’s body on the road.

WTAJ reports investigators obtained a warrant to search Green’s vehicle and found shell casings in the center console. They also discovered Pullin’s multicolored hair in the car, evidence of blood, and Lee’s Visa card.

Court records show Green is being charged with abuse of a corpse, criminal homicide, robbery inflicting serious bodily injury, tampering with evidence, false identification to law enforcement officer, and receiving stolen property, while Pullin was booked on charges of tampering with evidence, abuse of a corpse, receiving stolen property, and false identification to law enforcement officer.

Green is reportedly being held without bail and Pullin’s was set at $150,000.
