*Steve was excited to become a father with his three-month pregnant wife *Celia until sadly, one night, she woke him up in tears, tossed her blanket off and revealed blood all over their sheets.

“We had a really hard time accepting the fact… she would cry in our bed for at least 4 hours everyday,” he revealed on Reddit.

The distraught husband shared how the tragedy has impacted his wife so much that she blamed herself for what had happened.

“I had tried to console her to the best of my abilities but I was grief-stricken myself and couldn’t say the right words to her,” Steve admitted.

But the couple courageously have not given up and sought help through therapy.

“It took four months of therapy for us to gradually start feeling better… Celia was smiling more, she was still a little on edge, but she was doing good.”

Steve was determined to make his wife feel normal and happy again and had organised a gathering of friends and family for Celia’s birthday.

“It took 4 months of therapy to start feeling better”

“I invited our friends and family and cooked her favourite foods – I just wanted this day to be happy for her.”

Unfortunately, things didn’t turned out the way he planned.

During dinner, his brother and sister-in-law got up and told everyone they were expecting.

“After four seconds of silence, everyone in the room started congratulating them. I was stunned and turned to my wife with an emotionless expression,” he said.

“Until she smiled slowly and congratulated them and hugged them both.”

Steve then noticed the shift of conversation in the room – everyone couldn’t stop talking about pregnancy, baby names and baby toys.

The timing wasn’t just it…

“They could have easily announced this at their 5-year anniversary party which was just 2 weeks away,” he said.

“What was the point of announcing it on my wife’s birthday?”

He then noticed his wife get up and leave to go to their bedroom.

“I found her crying…” He explained that his wife didn’t want go out and face their guests.

“They were talking as if they hadn’t noticed we’d left”
Steve immediately knew what he was meant to do.

“I headed to the table, where everyone was done eating,” he recalled. “They were talking as if they hadn’t noticed we’d left.

“I didn’t wanna make a big scene so I told everyone kindly, that me and Celia had some plans for the evening and we’d have to cut the party short.”

Shockingly, Steve’s sister-in-law walks towards him and starts yelling, claiming that they’re only kicking people out because of her announcement.

He then tried explaining as calmly as possible that the event was supposed to be his wife’s birthday and not some pregnancy announcement party.

They said their goodbyes… and Steve thought the drama had ended there.

However, the story could not get any more devastating for the grieving couple.

Two hours later, Steve got a rude message from his brother saying they were selfish to kick everyone out and accused them of losing the baby.

“My brother called me selfish and said ‘I shouldn’t be jealous just because we won’t be as careless as the two of you’,” the shocked husband revealed.

“Careless as in implying that we had somehow caused the miscarriage even though we were incredibly careful… I’m beyond frustrated.”

“The gall to imply it your fault for losing the pregnancy!”
Reddit users were quick to point out that it wasn’t hard to determine who the a**hole was in the situation.

“Holy shit NTA and feel free to never, ever invite them to your home again,” one wrote.

“They betrayed your trust as hosts, set your wife’s progress back knowing your recent loss, and then had the gall to imply it was somehow your fault for losing the pregnancy.”

Some extended kindness to the grieving wife.

“You were much kinder to your guests than I would have been, and clearly they do not deserve your kindness ever again. I am so sorry. Hug your wife tightly,” another comforted.
