Barack Obama’s Hilarious Diaper Joke About Trump Has the Crowd in Stitches—You Won’t Believe His Comeback

Former U.S. President Barack Obama didn’t hold back as he delivered a sharp critique of his successor, Donald Trump, during a campaign rally in Pittsburgh. The event was part of Obama’s tour through key battleground states, where he aimed to energize support for Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential race. His speech blended serious political discussions with moments of humor, including a playful jab at Trump involving diapers.
Obama started his rally by thanking campaign volunteers, showing appreciation for their dedication to Harris’s campaign. He then set the stage for a candid discussion, saying he wanted to “speak some truths.” He addressed reports suggesting there was less enthusiasm for Harris than there had been for his own presidential bids. He also voiced his concerns about voter turnout, particularly among Black men, and questioned whether some were hesitant to support Harris simply because she is a woman.
Speaking directly to men in the audience, Obama said:
“Part of me wonders— and I’m speaking to the men here— if some of you just aren’t comfortable with the idea of a woman as president. And maybe you’re coming up with other reasons to justify that discomfort.”
Beyond his focus on voter attitudes, Obama took a strong stance against Trump’s behavior, calling out the former president for repeatedly insulting others. He argued that true strength isn’t about putting people down, especially women.
“Are you really thinking about not voting or supporting someone who has a long history of disrespecting you? Do you think that’s what being a man is? Belittling women? That’s not strength,” Obama declared.
The event, held at the University of Pittsburgh, was also an opportunity for Obama to take direct shots at Trump’s leadership. He described Trump as out of touch with reality and incapable of bringing meaningful change to the country. At one point, Obama referred to Trump as a “bumbling” billionaire, pointing out how Trump has spent nearly a decade complaining about his personal grievances ever since his infamous golden escalator entrance in 2015.
While Obama criticized Trump’s leadership style, he was full of praise for Kamala Harris, describing her as a dedicated public servant who has spent her life fighting for people in need.
“Kamala is as prepared for this job as any presidential candidate has ever been,” he said confidently.
One of the night’s biggest laughs came when Obama playfully questioned whether Trump had ever changed a diaper.
“Or diapers. I remember buying diapers. Do you think Donald Trump ever changed a diaper?” Obama asked with a smirk.
A voice from the crowd quickly responded: “His own!”
Obama burst into laughter before adding: “I almost said that, but I decided I shouldn’t say it.”
This lighthearted moment quickly went viral, with social media users sharing clips of the exchange.
Obama also didn’t hold back when talking about Trump’s erratic social media habits and lengthy, rambling speeches. He compared Trump’s style to that of Fidel Castro, pointing out how the former president often goes on long-winded rants filled with wild conspiracy theories.
“He’s out there yelling in all caps on social media, going on these never-ending speeches, like he’s trying to sell you something. Who does that?” Obama joked.
He then poked fun at Trump’s latest fundraising gimmick—selling over-the-top merchandise as part of his comeback campaign. Trump’s campaign has been marketing items like a luxury watch priced at $100,000, gold sneakers selling for $399, and a “God Bless the USA” Bible for $59.99.
Obama couldn’t resist taking a jab at this, shaking his head with amusement as he said:
“He’s actually selling the word of God—Donald Trump edition. His name is right there, next to Matthew and Luke. You couldn’t make this stuff up.”
