Joe Biden has strongly pushed back against Donald Trump after Trump launched a strange investigation into who was really in charge of the United States during Biden’s presidency, which lasted from 2021 until early this year. Biden didn’t hold back, calling Trump’s move ridiculous and accusing him of trying to distract the public from more serious issues.
The current president, now 82 years old, firmly stated that he was fully responsible for all the major decisions made during his time in office. That includes issuing pardons, signing executive orders, passing legislation, and making official proclamations. He dismissed Trump’s suggestion that someone else was secretly making those decisions or that Biden wasn’t mentally fit to lead. Biden called those claims “false” and nothing more than a distraction.
Trump, who is 78, recently directed his administration to dig into Biden’s presidency. He wants to know if other people may have been running things behind the scenes and if Biden’s aides misled the public about his mental health. Trump even raised concerns about Biden’s use of an autopen, a device used to sign official documents when the president isn’t physically present. Trump questioned the legitimacy of those signatures, even though the autopen has been used by U.S. presidents for over two centuries, dating back to Thomas Jefferson. It’s a legal and normal part of the White House’s tools, but Trump has used it to cast doubt on Biden’s leadership.
Biden didn’t let that slide either. He explained that using the autopen is perfectly acceptable and has always been standard practice. He also criticized Trump and Republicans in Congress, accusing them of trying to pass harmful laws that would hurt regular Americans by cutting essential programs like Medicaid while giving tax breaks to wealthy corporations and billionaires. Biden argued that Trump’s investigation is just a stunt meant to shift attention away from those controversial policies.
Even though Biden made it clear he was in control during his presidency, Trump is still moving forward with his inquiry. His team is now preparing to look into whether anyone in Biden’s administration intentionally misled the public about his mental condition or acted unconstitutionally in his place.
The feud took another ugly turn recently when Trump commented on Biden’s prostate cancer diagnosis. After Biden revealed the news, Trump criticized Biden’s team, suggesting they hid the diagnosis while he was still in office. He claimed the staff didn’t “tell the truth,” once again accusing them of covering up important information.
The tensions between both men continue to rise as each side tries to shape public opinion ahead of the next election. Biden remains firm that he led the country himself and sees Trump’s claims as nothing more than political noise aimed at creating confusion and division.
