Cardi B recently spoke out strongly against former President Donald Trump during a live stream. She was upset about his attendance at Super Bowl LIX and connected his presence to a personal family issue.

The rapper was particularly frustrated with the increased security measures at the event, which she said caused delays and resulted in damage to her expensive Christian Louboutin shoes.

“I’m really upset today because Donald Trump was at the Super Bowl, and the Secret Service was very strict about getting into the stadium,” Cardi B said, according to All Hip Hop. She showed her damaged shoe and complained, “This shoe cost me three thousand dollars. Now I dislike him even more because he didn’t need to go to the Super Bowl and ruin my shoe.”

In addition to her shoe complaint, Cardi B also brought up a personal matter involving her uncle. She demanded that Trump allow her uncle to return to the United States after he was deported. “Bring my uncle back, get my uncle to come back because he got deported,” she said during her live stream.

Cardi B, who is of Afro-Latina heritage, is one of many Americans affected by Trump’s strict immigration policies. Reports show that nearly 2,500 people were arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in late January, with 1,000 of those arrests happening just days after Trump took office.

The Trump administration has also changed long-standing policies that limited immigration enforcement in sensitive places like schools, churches, and hospitals. According to Newsweek, this change gives federal immigration authorities more power to detain people in locations that were previously protected under guidelines set by ICE in 2011 and Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in 2013. Trump has argued that this new approach will stop criminals from taking advantage of these protected spaces and allow immigration agents to do their jobs more effectively.

Despite these changes, many schools and churches are still committed to protecting immigrant communities.
