CORRUPTION! Trump Signals Criminal Investigation With Demand FBI ‘Preserve and Retain All Records’ of Closed DEI Office

President-elect Donald Trump has suggested he might launch an investigation into the FBI’s Office of Diversity and Inclusion (DEI). He has demanded that the agency save all records, documents, and information related to the office, which was shut down in December 2024, just a month after Trump won the presidential election.

The DEI office was created to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the FBI, but its sudden closure has raised questions. According to a report by Fox News, the FBI did not explain why it decided to shut down the office. Trump and his pick for the new FBI director, Kash Patel, have been openly critical of DEI programs, arguing that they take focus away from national security concerns.

Trump voiced his concerns on Truth Social, accusing the FBI of being “corrupt” for closing the office right before the new administration takes over. He claimed the timing of the closure was suspicious and demanded transparency.

Trump posted:
“We demand that the FBI preserve and retain all records, documents, and information on the now closing DEI Office. This office should never have been created, and if it was, it should have been closed long ago. Why is it being shut down one day before the new administration takes office? The reason is clear: CORRUPTION!”

Trump’s call to preserve the records suggests that he may plan to investigate the activities of the DEI office once he assumes office. He wants to understand what the office did, why it was created, and why it was closed so suddenly.

Under federal law, specifically the Federal Records Act (FRA), government agencies like the FBI are required to keep detailed records of their activities. This includes information about their policies, decisions, and operations. The law also requires agencies to manage and properly dispose of records based on official guidelines. Trump’s demand aligns with this legal requirement, as he wants to ensure no information is lost or destroyed before he can review it.

This move reflects Trump’s ongoing criticism of DEI initiatives across federal agencies, which he has described as unnecessary and harmful distractions from critical government responsibilities. It also signals his intention to roll back similar programs in other areas of the government once he takes office.
