Democrat Senator Ben Cardin recently said during a hearing that so-called hate speech violates the First Amendment.

It doesn’t.

“If you espouse hate, if you espouse violence, you’re not protected under the First Amendment. I think we can be more aggressive in the way that we handle that type of use of the internet.” the US Senator from Maryland said.

There is no hate speech exception to the First Amendment.

The Democrats don’t even hide the authoritarian that lives inside of them.

The Democrat Senator defended his position after he was called out for lying about the First Amendment.

“Hate speech is protected under the First Amendment, unless it incites violence,” Cardin said.

This is also false.

When it comes to incitement, the statement made by someone must imminently cause violence in order to meet the threshold.
