Donald Trump branded ‘dumbest president’ as he spends millions on one thing

President Donald Trump is facing a new wave of criticism after reports revealed that he may have spent millions of taxpayer dollars on golfing an activity that has nothing to do with running the country.

Trump, who is well known for stirring up controversy, recently posted a video of himself swinging a golf club on X (formerly Twitter). While it seemed like just another casual moment, it sparked outrage among some Americans who questioned how much public money he has used for his golf outings since starting his second term in January.

One user asked Grok, the AI tool created by Elon Musk’s company and used on the platform, to estimate how much Trump’s golf trips have cost taxpayers. Grok responded with a shocking estimate of about \$151.5 million. However, official estimates place the number closer to \$24 million as of April 2025.

The backlash grew when it was revealed that Trump had spent eight weekends in a row golfing at his private club in Mar-a-Lago, Florida. While the president personally pays for his own stay, the costs of flying Air Force One, transporting the presidential motorcade, and housing the Secret Service are all covered by taxpayers. Government records from previous years showed that each of these trips could cost around \$3.4 million.

Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett from Texas criticized Trump in a government hearing, estimating that his golf trips had cost Americans about \$26 million by the end of March. She argued that if officials really cared about government efficiency, they should be questioning how much was being wasted on these personal outings.

As expected, the criticism didn’t stop at just the money. Online users called Trump names like “coward in chief” and “the dumbest and most thin-skinned president ever.” Others accused him of being selfish and wasting public resources for personal enjoyment.

Still, a few people defended him, saying he’s different from typical politicians and that they admire his honesty and humor. One person even wrote, “He’s not pretending to be perfect like others. That’s why I don’t regret voting for him.”

The debate continues, but many Americans are clearly frustrated about where their tax money is going—and whether their president is focused more on leisure than leadership.
