Donald Trump Lands in Serious Trouble That Could Lead to Prosecution Just Days Into Office (Video)
Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) has asked the Senate to look into why former President Donald Trump removed John Bolton’s security protection.
As previously reported, John Bolton was woken up at midnight on January 21st by Secret Service agents who informed him that President Trump had officially taken away his security detail.
Remember, President Trump removed Bolton’s Secret Service protection last Monday.
Trump had also revoked Bolton’s security clearance on his first day in office through an executive order.
Last week, Bolton criticized Trump for this decision.
“I am disappointed but not surprised that President Trump has decided to end the protection previously provided by the United States Secret Service. Despite my criticisms of President Biden’s national-security policies, he chose to extend that protection to me in 2021. The Justice Department filed criminal charges against an Iranian Revolutionary Guard official in 2022 for trying to hire a hitman to target me. That threat is still real, as shown by the recent arrest of someone trying to arrange for President Trump’s own assassination. The American people can decide which President made the right call,” John Bolton said last week on X.
Last Friday, John Bolton again criticized Trump for removing his Secret Service protection, claiming he is still under threat.
If Bolton was really under threat, why is he drawing attention to his lack of security?
He can pay for his own security.
“The Iranian threats against me (and a few others) are still very real and have been confirmed as of a few days ago. By removing my Secret Service detail and continuing the protection for others, Trump shows his true motives,” John Bolton said on Friday morning.
Last Friday, Trump showed no regret when asked about his decision to remove Bolton and Fauci’s security.
“You know, they all made a lot of money. They can hire their own security, too. All the people you’re talking about can go out – I can give them some good numbers of very good security people – they can hire their own security. They all made a lot of money. Fauci made a lot of money. They all did so if they felt that strongly – certainly I would not take responsibility,” Trump told reporters.
“Whether you like Bolton or anybody else, we need to make sure that if you serve in our government and you take a foreign power at the request of the administration, that we do not leave you hanging,” Lindsey Graham told CNN’s Dana Bash.
“The Senate needs to look at what happened and sit down and figure out what’s the best way forward,” Lindsey Graham said.
