Donald Trump launches scathing attack after new poll showed what US really thinks of him 5 months into presidency

Donald Trump has hit back angrily at a new opinion poll that shows many Americans are unhappy with how he’s doing five months into his second term as president.

After taking office again in January, Trump promised big changes, some of which have stirred controversy like his “Big Beautiful Bill” that led to a public argument with Elon Musk, who called the bill “an abomination.” There have also been protests in Los Angeles against ICE, and Trump has weighed in on rising tensions between Israel and Iran.

A recent Fox News poll asked people how they think Trump is handling key issues like immigration, foreign policy, and the economy. The results weren’t great for him. For immigration, 46% approved and 53% didn’t. Only 43% approved of how he’s handling foreign policy, while 57% disapproved. Even on the economy an area where he did well during his first term many weren’t impressed.

Trump responded on Truth Social, calling the poll “fake” and accusing Fox News of being biased against him. He claimed their polls were wrong in the last election and said MAGA supporters don’t trust them anymore. He also insisted the situation at the U.S. border is “perfect” now, despite the numbers in the poll.

He wrote that under President Biden, 60,000 people crossed the border in the same month last year, compared to none now—a claim that isn’t backed up by facts in the report. Still, not all of the poll was bad news for Trump: 53% of people said they approve of how he’s handling border security.

The poll surveyed 1,003 registered voters selected at random from across the country. Fox News hasn’t publicly responded to Trump’s criticism.
