Donald Trump makes bizarre comment about fate of stranded NASA astronauts

President Donald Trump has discussed “stranded” astronauts Butch Wilmore and Sunita Williams but instead of focusing on the nature of their predicament suggested they may fall in love.

“I hope they like each other. Maybe they’ll love each other, I don’t know,” Trump said during a discussion with reporters. “They’ve been left up there, think of it.” He then referred to Williams, commenting on her hair, saying, “I see the woman with the wild hair. Good solid head of hair she’s got. There’s no kidding, there’s no games with her hair

Trump’s remark struck many as highly inappropriate, as both astronauts are married.

Wilmore has two children and lives in Houston, Texas, with his family when not in space, while Williams is married to her husband, Michael Williams, also residing in Houston.

Despite this, Trump’s comment raised questions about his perception of the situation and his casual attitude toward the serious nature of the astronauts’ prolonged time in space.

This strange remark comes amidst a growing public concern regarding the astronauts’ extended stay aboard the ISS.

Wilmore and Williams have been stranded in space for over nine months due to unforeseen delays with their return mission.

As tensions rise over the delay, Trump claimed that SpaceX CEO Elon Musk was preparing a spacecraft to retrieve the astronauts.

“Elon is right now preparing a ship to go up and get them,” he said during the same conversation.

Trump also made it clear that he blamed the Biden Administration for allowing the astronauts to remain stranded for such an extended period, stating, “The most incompetent president in our history has allowed that to happen to you, but this president won’t let it happen. We’re going to get them out.”

Earlier in January, Trump had announced on social media that he had asked Elon Musk to “go get” the astronauts. “They have been waiting for many months on the Space Station,” Trump wrote, adding, “Elon will soon be on his way. Hopefully, all will be safe. Good luck Elon!!!”

While Trump’s comments about the astronauts’ personal lives have sparked confusion and concern, his continued support for the astronauts’ safe return underscores the urgency of their mission’s resolution.

Although SpaceX’s involvement in the mission to rescue the astronauts is not yet confirmed, the focus remains on getting Wilmore and Williams back to Earth safely as soon as possible.
