Donald Trump Pays Wife Melania to ‘Pretend to be Happy’ After Revived Holiday Photo Backfires, You Won’t Believe What People Are Saying
What’s happening with Donald Trump and Melania Trump’s marriage? Many people online think their relationship might just be a business deal, especially since Melania is rarely seen with him.
On Christmas, Trump shared an Instagram post that added to the rumors. The photo showed him in a black tuxedo and Melania in a white, sparkling dress. But some noticed the photo wasn’t recent. One person commented, “That’s a 7-year-old photo. What’s going on?” The List reported that the picture was first shared in 2018 when Trump was president. Another person joked, “How much is he paying her to pretend she’s happy?”
Trump and Melania married in 2005. They met in 1998 while he was separated from his second wife, Marla Maples. In 2006, they had their son, Barron. Trump, now 78, also has four adult children: Donald Jr., Ivanka, Eric, and Tiffany.
Rumors about their marriage being troubled gained attention during Trump’s 2024 reelection campaign. Unlike during his first run for office, Melania was rarely seen with him. In October, people noticed she seemed to avoid kissing Trump at a New York rally. Some even claimed Trump was using a Melania look-alike to avoid questions about her absence.
Trump dismissed these rumors in 2023, saying Melania is “a private person” who loves the country and will show up “at the appropriate time.” Still, the Christmas post made some wonder if there’s more to her staying out of the spotlight.
One tweet said, “Where is Melania? She doesn’t want to be around him.” Another called their relationship “fraud and deceit,” pointing out the recycled photo.
Melania did join the family for Christmas Eve dinner at Mar-a-Lago, sitting with her son Barron. Across the table, Donald Trump Jr.’s new girlfriend, Bettina Anderson, made an appearance.
Trump will officially return to office on Jan. 20, but reports suggest Melania may live in the White House with her own bedroom, separate from Trump.
