President Donald Trump spent his Memorial Day weekend relaxing at his Bedminster Golf Course in New Jersey, but as usual, he made headlines with a mix of humor and controversy. On Sunday morning, Trump posted a playful image on his Truth Social account showing one of his friends being attacked by a large goose on the golf course. The photo captured the bird flapping aggressively while the man tried to defend himself, creating a chaotic and funny scene.

Trump captioned the post, “I always said golf can be a dangerous sport! My friend being bit at Bedminster,” and the post quickly gained attention, earning nearly 30,000 likes and thousands of comments. It’s unclear who took the photo, but it’s believed to be someone close to Trump or a staff member at the golf club.

The president had just delivered a commencement speech at West Point earlier on Saturday before retreating to Bedminster for the holiday break. He also recently hosted NFL star Saquon Barkley at the same golf course, continuing his habit of mixing politics with celebrity encounters.

Aside from golf and geese, Trump also used his Truth Social platform to post political opinions. One of the more controversial messages was about international students studying at Harvard. Trump expressed anger over the number of foreign students attending the university, claiming that many come from countries unfriendly to the U.S. and don’t pay anything toward their education. He demanded that Harvard release the names and countries of these students and suggested that the university use its own \$52 billion endowment instead of asking the government for money.

In the same post, Trump also criticized Harvard for what he described as rising antisemitism on campus, using that as part of his reasoning for wanting foreign students removed. However, his efforts to ban international students from studying in the U.S. were blocked by a federal judge, who ruled that it violated free speech rights under the First Amendment.

Harvard responded to Trump’s actions by calling them retaliation for the university refusing to let the government interfere with its academic independence, curriculum, and the freedom of its staff and students.

Meanwhile, Trump has continued promoting his “Big Beautiful Bill,” a massive 1,116-page budget proposal that builds on his 2017 government spending cuts. Between golfing, posting memes, and weighing in on education policy, Trump’s Memorial Day weekend was anything but quiet.
