Donald Trump is known for turning his red baseball caps into a big part of his personal brand, but his newest design is raising eyebrows and sparking concern across the country.
The latest cap has “Trump 2028” printed on it, which has led many people to worry that Trump may be planning to run for president again even though the U.S. Constitution says that a person can only be elected president twice.
Trump has already run in the last three elections and shows no signs of slowing down. Some people think he’s so hooked on campaigning that he’s gearing up for another shot in 2028. The cap, spotted on Trump’s official website by political commentator Brian Tyler Cohen, immediately started a storm online. People from both political sides are confused and concerned, especially because of the constitutional rules.

One person online reacted by saying, “Ugh. Disgusting. If he’s gonna run then Obama can run.” Another wrote, “It is unconstitutional for him to run again.” Someone else simply said, “I hate it here.”
These reactions are mostly based on the 22nd Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, which clearly states that no one can be elected president more than twice. That means after serving two terms, that’s it—no third time.
Even so, Trump and many of his supporters seem excited about the idea of “Trump 2028.” When asked about it during an interview, Trump responded that there are “methods” to make it happen, and added, “I’m not joking… a lot of people want me to do it.”
The only legal way for Trump to return as president would be to get rid of or change the 22nd Amendment, which is extremely difficult. To do that, two-thirds of both the Senate and the House would need to agree, and then three-quarters of all U.S. states would also have to approve. That kind of support is almost impossible to get, even with political control.
Still, some Trump supporters believe they’ve found a possible workaround. They argue that the rule says a person can’t be elected president more than twice but doesn’t say anything about becoming president through other means. The theory is that Trump could run in 2028 as a vice president. If his running mate wins and then steps down, Trump could take over as president without being officially elected again.
Meanwhile, people have noticed something interesting about the hat. It doesn’t actually say “Donald” Trump just “Trump.” That’s led to more speculation. Some believe it could mean someone else in the Trump family, like his children Eric or Ivanka, might be the one planning to run.
For now, it’s all just rumors and theories. Whether it’s Donald Trump or another member of the Trump family, people are definitely paying attention.
Time will tell what really happens.
