On Sunday evening, President Donald Trump arrived at the New Orleans Caesars Superdome just before Super Bowl LIX started. He received both cheers and boos from the crowd.

Trump made history as the first sitting U.S. president to attend the Super Bowl. As the Kansas City Chiefs prepared to face the Philadelphia Eagles, Trump walked in with his fist raised.

The Fox NFL broadcast team talked about Trump’s historic appearance, noting he was surrounded by Secret Service agents.

The NFL’s official X account also posted a photo of Trump with New Orleans first responders and families affected by the New Year’s Day terror attack in the French Quarter.

Before the game, Trump spoke with Fox News host Bret Baier and predicted the Chiefs would win their third straight Super Bowl title.

He praised Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, saying, “When a quarterback wins as much as he has, I have to go with Kansas City.” He also complimented the Eagles, calling them a “fantastic team” and expecting a great game.

Trump had kind words for Mahomes’ wife, Brittany, calling her a “great person” and noting she supports him and his MAGA movement. He also praised Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts, saying, “He really knows how to win. He’s a great, great quarterback.”

Trump expressed surprise that he was the first president to attend a Super Bowl, telling Baier, “I would have thought many presidents came. But I think it’s good for the country to have the president at the game. The country has taken on a whole new life.”
