Donald Trump was branded a ‘freak’ by Arsenal star, Ian Wright, after Coleen Rooney revealed what the US President said to her when her husband, Wayne, was playing in America

Coleen Rooney left her famous friends in shock when she revealed what Donald Trump said to her when husband, Wayne, was playing in the US.

The creepy comments, which have resurfaced on Trump’s inauguration day as he’s set to be sworn in as the US president for the second time, were made in 2018 when the Rooneys crossed the pond following Wayne’s work with MLS outfit D.C. United.

Coleen only met Trump once during the family’s stint stateside, but after an awkward exchange at a Christmas party at the White House, the WAG revealed the Apprentice star made a crude comment while speaking to her son. Opening up about the exchange, she said on Sky Bet’s Stick to Football: “Well, my dad, he didn’t like what he [Trump] said. So, when I came in, he said to my son, ‘See, I told you all the soccer players get the good-looking girls’. When I’ve come out, I’ve told my mum, she was like ‘Ergh’.”

This prompted Arsenal star, Ian Wright, who was appearing alongside Coleen with Gary Neville, Jamie Carragher, Jill Scott, and Roy Keane, to brand Trump a “freak,” muttering his disgust in the background of the conversation.

“It was my first meeting with him. It was like, ‘Hello, nice…’ and then that was it,” Coleen continued. “We didn’t spend that much time there.”

“This was like a Christmas thing at the White House,“ she added. “All the workers and stuff. They did something for the family, like a family day.

“We went with the four kids, but I just remember my kids sitting – there were tables and chairs and everything – and they were eating chicken nuggets on the floor under the table! It was a bit of a strange set-up, but it was an experience.”

Coleen also spoke about meeting Trump when she was on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! last year. Admitting she thought the then President-elect was a “dirty b*****d” following his comments, the Scouser revealed that the polarising president had wanted Wayne to teach his son, Baron, how to play football.

During the discussion about the politician, Coleen’s campmates were left open- mouthed, with King of the Jungle, Danny Jones keen to know if Trump was as orange as he seems. “Is he that orange?” he asked, before Coleen confirmed: “He was very orange!”

Trump’s inauguration today will welcome the controversial ex-President back into the Oval Office, with millions of people watching on as he prepares for an anticipated and feared second four-year term.

Tens of thousands of Americans and foreign nationals have descended on Washington DC to watch the formal ceremony take place at 12pm local time (5pm GMT). Millions of people will tune in as inclement weather moves the event indoors for the first time in 40 years, with Trump taking the Oath of Office from the Capitol Rotunda instead of the grand stage used for most ceremonies due to the bitterly cold -11C temperatures.
