Elon Musk humiliated as new poll shows Republicans have made their mind up

A new poll has shown that most Republicans do not support Elon Musk’s idea of creating a new political party. The survey, which asked 1,200 randomly chosen people over the phone between June 6 and 7, revealed that only a small percentage of people liked the idea. The questions were asked through a recorded voice system, and people answered using their phone keypads.

When asked if they would support a new independent political party led or funded by Elon Musk—one that aims to represent the 80% of voters Musk believes are in the political center—only 11% said they would consider it. A large majority, 76%, said they would not support it, and 13% were unsure.

A second survey focused more on Republican voters. In that group, just 6% said they might support Musk’s idea, while a massive 92% said no, and only 2% said they were unsure.

This all comes after Elon Musk posted a poll on his own social media platform, X, where he asked users if there should be a third political party that speaks for the majority in the middle. After getting responses, Musk posted that “the people have spoken” and insisted that a new political party is needed in America. He even suggested a name for it—“The America Party.” He said this was “fate,” pointing out that exactly 80% of people agreed with his idea in his social media poll.

Musk’s proposal comes during a time of rising tension between him and Donald Trump. Musk recently blasted the former president on social media, even going as far as to repost an old photo showing Trump with Jeffrey Epstein, the convicted sex offender. Musk accused Trump of being in the Epstein files and suggested that’s why they haven’t been made public. He wrote, “Time to drop the really big bomb,” and added, “@realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files.”

Trump fired back, claiming that Musk is wrong and bragging that without his support, the Republican Party would have lost the election and the Democrats would now control both the House and the Senate.

As the fight between the two powerful figures grows, Trump has also threatened Musk, warning there will be “serious repercussions” if Musk helps Democrats during the midterm elections. Trump even suggested that canceling Musk’s government contracts would be a way to cut government spending.

Meanwhile, Elon Musk’s daughter, Vivian Wilson—who is estranged from her father and is the child of Musk’s first wife, Canadian author Justine Wilson—also threw some shade at her dad. She posted a video on Instagram where she laughed and told viewers, “I do not want to comment,” hinting that she doesn’t support his actions or statements either.

This whole situation has turned into a messy public argument involving politics, family tensions, and strong accusations. While Musk believes a new political party could be the answer for Americans stuck between the left and right, the polls suggest that many, especially Republicans, aren’t ready to back him on that idea.
