There is no limit to how low Jason Whitlock will go to make a bad hot take.

On Friday, Memphis authorities released footage from the police beating of Tyre Nichols. It was described all week as a terrible video and once it got released, it was proven to be true.

Nichols, a 29-year-old father, and FedEx worker was pulled over on Jan. 7th, and after trying to flee, he was severely beaten by police. He died in a hospital three days later.

In the videos released by the City of Memphis, officers are shown aggressively dragging Nichols from his car, shouting profanities, and taking turns punching, kicking, and spraying him with mace.

Somehow, former ESPN and Fox Sports personality Jason Whitlock used that video to somehow blame black women for what happened.

He stated this is what happens when you have “young black men being supervised by a single black woman.” He said this is what happens in cities “run by single black mothers” and blamed a lack of “male authority.”

How social media responded:

President Joe Biden issued a statement as the footage was released on Friday, calling it “horrific.”

“Like so many, I was outraged and deeply pained to see the horrific video of the beating that resulted in Tyre Nichols’ death,” Biden said in the statement. “It is yet another painful reminder of the profound fear and trauma, the pain, and the exhaustion that Black and Brown Americans experience every single day.”

All five officers have since been fired, and are facing charges of second-degree murder, assault and kidnapping.
