HARVEY, La. (TCD) — A 29-year-old passenger was arrested after allegedly fatally stabbing his Uber driver and uploading a video of the attack on social media.

According to a news release from the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office, on the afternoon of Thursday, Dec. 8, deputies responded to the parking lot of a hotel in the 2200 block of the Westbank Expressway to a report of a stabbing. At the scene, deputies reportedly found the victim, 54-year-old Yolanda Dillion, suffering from multiple stab wounds inside a vehicle.

Dillion, who reportedly worked for the New Orleans Police Department as a budget analyst, was transported to a local hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries. Dillion worked for Uber in her spare time for extra money, Nola.com reports.

Upon further investigation, the Sheriff’s Office learned the victim was driving Brandon Jacobs from New Orleans to the hotel in Harvey, Louisiana. Jacobs allegedly stabbed the victim repeatedly as he was exiting the car.

Jacobs uploaded a video of Dillion dying on Facebook, Nola.com reports. The Sheriff’s Office reportedly worked with the social media company to take it down.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, Jacobs was taken into custody at the hotel, and during an interview, he confessed to stabbing Dillion. Jacobs reportedly said that he “selected the victim at random because he wanted to kill someone.”

Jacobs was arrested and charged with second-degree murder, the Sheriff’s Office announced.
